Castaway is seeking a dedicated Banquet Cook to join our culinary team in Burbank. You will prepare dishes for banquets, weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions, following established recipes and portion sizes.

The role emphasizes high-quality plating, efficiency, and strict adherence to sanitation standards in a fast-paced, event-driven kitchen. Qualified candidates bring at least 2 years of banquet cooking experience, strong knife skills, and the ability to work evenings,

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a banquet cook.
Proficiency with a variety of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes for banquets and special events.
Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency.
Collaborate with the Banquet Chef and kitchen team to ensure timely execution.
Monitor food quality and presentation to meet standards of excellence.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace that meets Health Department standards.
Communicate effectively with servers and event planners to ensure seamless events.
