Overview
The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the set up, break down, and clean up of all banquet functions in accordance with the BEO, standards, specifications, and inventories. The Banquet Houseperson maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe event area at all times to ensure a quality experience is delivered to guests. The successful Banquet Houseperson will effectively set up the assigned function, maintain clean and organized banquet storage areas, and have exemplary attendance.

Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:
- Know your job. Complete job skills training, possess a clear knowledge of the job, understand property standards, listen attentively in pre-shift briefings, and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations. Apply experience and training to accomplish tasks.
- Be on time. Follow attendance guidelines, report to work on time and in uniform, and follow clock-in and clock-out procedures.
- Be on stage. Associates should be friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist. Follow property personal appearance standards, be well-groomed, in uniform, and practice good personal hygiene.

- Work smart. Understand shift needs, use resources properly, complete all assignments methodically and promptly, and pay attention to details.

- Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your supervisor.

Associate Responsibilities specific to this role and Department:
- Set up and breakdown of banquet functions and spaces.
- Set tables in assigned areas according to standards.
- Assist with setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Be familiar with various types of workable setups for each function room.
- Assist managers/captains or front-of-house staff as directed by a supervisor.
- Possess full knowledge of setup techniques to exceed guest expectations.
- Keep function rooms and stations neat and clean per policies and procedures.
- Maintain food and cleanliness standards to ensure high-quality products.
- Greet and interact with guests professionally, creating a “WOW” experience.
- Serve banquet functions as needed.
- Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray breakdown for buffets or other food services.
- Complete special projects and assigned sidework as directed by the manager.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
- Experience: Previous high-volume restaurant or banquet service preferred
- Skills: Able to work an entire shift standing and walking
