Job summary

The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY is seeking a Banquet Manager to oversee daily Banquets/Events operations, ensuring top-quality food, beverage and service in a coordinated, guest-focused environment.

You will lead banquet teams, manage space and equipment, coordinate with catering staff, and uphold safety, cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in banquet management role at a major property.
• Extensive knowledge of food service and banquet equipment requirements.
• Extensive knowledge about all health and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform all duties of Banquet staff.
• Flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to bend, push, pull, lift and stand up to 8 hours.
• Good computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the banquet.
• Advise Associates of formal policies and procedures.
• Recruitment and training of teams; overall management of the teams.
• Organize and manage the banquet space and storage.
• Develop and implement banquet beverage controls.
• Coordinate with supervisors and staff for food, equipment, tables, chairs, etc.
• Oversee maintenance of banquet equipment and cleanliness of areas.
• Maintain inventory and maintenance on props and equipment.
• Manage vendor and customer relations.
• Update banquet and event food and beverage policies and procedures.
• Liaise with key client contacts at all banquet functions.
• Ensure operating procedures are followed and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with banquet chef for food presentation and delivery times.
• Handle guest concerns promptly and courteously.
• Promote teamwork with other departments.
• Attend pre-event and post-event meetings.
