Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Lincoln Downtown is seeking a Banquet Server to interact with guests and ensure a great dining and meeting experience at the hotel. You will manage event setups, serve courses, maintain professionalism, and support safety and cleanliness in the banquet space.

The role requires ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and work varied shifts including afternoons, nights, and weekends. Familiarity with BEOs and event coordination is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Shifts will vary; mostly afternoon, nights & weekends.
• Saturday Nebraska Football Game days are required

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms and events and supervise set-up, service, and clean-up for assigned functions.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages according to the Banquet Event Order to ensure consistency.
• Hold pre-function meetings and check staffing and menus before events.
• Carry out service elements of catered events and communicate with customers about quality of service.
• Set tables and construct work stations, ensuring proper presentation of food and beverages.
• Supervise and assign tasks to event staff and ensure safe handling of food and equipment.
• Address customer complaints and follow through with necessary action.
• Provide input to Events Manager and F&B Manager; resolve problems where possible.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and proper storage of utensils and equipment.
