Job summary

The Source Hotel in Denver is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead on-site event service, coordinate with Culinary and Catering teams, and ensure flawless execution of banquets from setup to breakdown.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to coordinate across multiple departments (Catering Sales, Banquet Chef, Restaurant Management)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required to translate BEOs into action for service teams
• Ability to read and interpret BEOs and ensure details are executed accurately
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced events
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to events to ensure details, timing, setup, and service requirements are understood
• Coordinate with Catering Sales Manager, Banquet Chef, and Restaurant Management on event timelines and staffing
• Oversee event setup to ensure rooms, decor, stations, and service align with the BEO
• Serve as on-site client contact during events and address questions or requests promptly
• Communicate BEO changes and updates to departments and team members
• Coordinate restaurant staff to support events and ensure proper staffing levels
• Coordinate food service timing, presentation, and menu requirements with Banquet Chef
• Ensure appropriate restaurant staffing is available to support events
• Participate in event service, including greeting guests and serving food/beverages
• Monitor events for timing, presentation, cleanliness, and guest service quality
• Identify and resolve service issues, escalating when needed
• Complete event breakdown and return all equipment and materials to designated locations
• Inspect spaces post-function to ensure proper reset and cleanliness
• Maintain adherence to property policies and closing procedures
• Demonstrate professional presence and uphold service standards throughout events
