Job summary

The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a Cook 2 to join our culinary team. You will work with the kitchen to prepare a variety of dishes, maintain high quality, and ensure food safety standards.

Responsibilities include following recipes, keeping the kitchen clean, helping with inventory, and supporting events and catering as needed. Prior cook experience and a Food Handler's Certification are preferred; hotel discounts are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Food Handler's Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure that all food is of the highest quality and meets our strict standards.
• Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
• Assist with special events and catering as needed.
