Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Banquet Cook II to support banquet operations at this renowned resort. The role focuses on preparing items for banquet events, maintaining station organization, and ensuring top-quality flavor and presentation under Chef guidance.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of banquet cooking experience, a preference for hotel banquet backgrounds, and weekend/holiday availability. A San Diego County Food Handler certification will be provided upon hire.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of banquet cooking experience or training
• Previous hotel banquet experience preferred
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire (company-funded)
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Responsibilities

• Prepares mise en place for banquet functions from production lists posted by the chef
• Maintains organization of all prepared items according to BEOs
• Participates in preparation and plate-up of banquet events with proper cooking techniques, flavors, and presentation
• Assists colleagues across departments to promote teamwork and smooth service
• Adheres to safety standards and maintains cleanliness per Health Department and hotel standards
• Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership
