Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA, part of Evans Hotels, LLC, is a premier resort with ocean views, 170 rooms, 2 restaurants, spa and event spaces delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The Banquet Server delivers courteous, timely service at events, knows menus and pricing, and welcomes guests with a friendly greeting. Requires 1–2 years in hospitality, strong service and wine knowledge, weekend/holiday availability, and San Diego County Food Handler certification on hire.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in hospitality or restaurant is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service, beverages, and wine, including wine service.
• Available to work on weekends and holidays.
• Must obtain San Diego County Food Handler certification on hire; training provided.
• RBS certification required.
• Able to lift heavy trays (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Cordially and professionally presents food items during banquet events, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
• Deliver prompt, consistent service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Actively observes guests to respond to requests and determine when meals are completed.
• Know all pertinent information about the hotel and its services; answer questions about these services.
• Follows required sanitation policies.
• Maintain complete knowledge of menus, including cooking times and ingredients.
• Performs additional duties as directed by leadership.
