Job summary

Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, CA, is seeking a line cook to plan, prep, set up, and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner items for the resort's outlets, following standards and plating guides.

You will maintain clean, sanitary work areas, operate stoves and grills, rotate stock, and adhere to health regulations while supporting the Sous Chef with recipe execution and daily opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• 1-2 years restaurant experience
• Must have a high school education or GED
• Two years experience in a fine dinning restaurant or resort
• Basic math functions
• Culinary school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstation with sanitizer bucket and utensils.
• Prepare meat, fish, poultry and other items.
• Cook food orders as tickets arrive and read tickets carefully.
• Operate stoves, grills, fryers, broilers, and other utensils.
• Keep stations clean during preparation and service.
• Adhere to health department regulations.
• Rotate and store all food items properly.
• Inform Chef of any abnormalities in food quality.
• Complete opening and closing duties and prep employee meals.
• Prepare recipes as outlined by Sous Chef or Chef.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
