Job summary

Gecko Hospitality - Don Hutcheson in Sedona, AZ, is seeking a Banquet Chef to lead a high-end banquet kitchen in a luxury resort. You will design and execute meals across all banquet formats, supervise a skilled team, and ensure top-tier quality, safety, and presentation for every event.

The role requires a culinary degree with 4+ years in fine dining or luxury hotel settings, plus 5+ years leading cooks. ServSafe certification is required; a fast-paced, collaborative culture awaits the right

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited culinary school or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role within a fine dining/ four-star hotel or resort.
• Minimum of five years’ experience supervising a team of five or more cooks.
• Current food handler’s certification or ServSafe required.
• Strong leadership with delegation, training and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret BEOs and recipes accurately.
• Strong basic math and numerical skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-heat kitchen with minimal supervision.
• Solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute meal services for breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffets, stations, and plated banquet events in a luxury setting.
• Supervise the banquet kitchen operation, including menu development and food prep.
• Oversee setup, mise en place, and execution for all banquet events.
• Direct, coordinate, and delegate responsibilities to kitchen staff to meet daily goals.
• Ensure freshness, quality, and rotation of all foods.
• Expedite banquet events with seamless coordination between stations and servers.
