Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Department of Campus Dining and Hospitality is seeking applications for a Banquet Captain (Shift Supervisor). This hands-on role provides leadership in the CD&H catering department, overseeing staff for event setup, service and cleanup while upholding service standards.

The position requires coordinating full-time, student, and temporary staff, ensuring food safety, labeling, and SOPs, and driving a customer-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of food service experience; education may substitute for experience.
• Must obtain food safety certification within 6 months of hire and maintain it.
• Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Successful completion of defensive driving training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of staff during events.
• Ensure food safety, allergen labeling, and SOP compliance.
• Lead scheduling, training, and performance coaching.
• Maintain clean, organized event spaces and equipment.
