Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise and assist with the setup, service, and cleanup of all banquet functions, ensuring spaces and equipment meet specifications and guest experiences are flawless.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of banquet supervision or related leadership in hospitality, with the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work long hours, weekends, and holidays. Join a family‑owned company committed to Lead with Love and exceptional events.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of banquet supervisor and/or set-up houseperson leadership experience or 1 year of supervisory/management experience in food service or hospitality in a convention center or large hotel preferred.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
• Must be flexible to work long hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct and timely setup of all Banquet Event Order (BEO) functions, including meeting rooms, breaks, audiovisual and equipment.
• Assign side work duties and stations to servers and supervise the service station or banquet room.
• Break down banquet space after functions and store equipment and supplies properly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout banquet spaces, pre-function areas, and storage areas.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
