Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Banquet Captain at the University of Cincinnati to lead on-floor service during banquets and catered events. You will coordinate team execution, direct servers and porters, and ensure delivery according to BEOs and service standards.

You will work with the culinary team and supervisors to ensure smooth, professional events, while focusing on guest satisfaction and attention to detail. The role may vary by event and client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience.
• Prior lead or captain experience in a banquet or event environment preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol per state regulations.
• Must maintain a valid alcohol-service certification (TIPS/TEAM) or equivalent and comply with state training requirements.
• A food handler certification may also be required based on state or local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet service on events, coordinating service execution and directing Banquet Servers and Porters.
• Ensure service is delivered according to BEOs, timelines and standards.
• Train and onboard banquet staff as directed.
• Attend to setup, service and breakdown with focus on guest satisfaction and detail.
