Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Customer Service skills are essential.
• Prioritization and time management skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail is important.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Coordinate with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function.
• Maintain banquet logbook and function sheets (BEO).
• Check banquet rooms, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness and setup.
• Oversee all aspects of banquet function activities and timely execution.
• Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
• Plan event courses and orchestrate completion in a courteous manner.
• Adhere to banquet standard processes and hotel policies.
• Supervise and train staff in setup and service according to standards.
• Discuss last-minute changes with the banquet team.
• Ensure guest requirements are ready 30 minutes before events.
• Coordinate details with banquet, planning and kitchen staff.
• Maintain contact with the banquet chef to ensure smooth flow.
• Monitor banquet personnel performance and provide guidance.
• Participate in pre-shift/pre-function meetings.
• Assist in setup of banquet rooms and service of food and beverages.
• Communicate progress with supervisors and managers.
• Ensure guest checks are billed and signed as planned.
• Provide daily sales reconciliation and reporting to Front Office.
• Display awareness of security, safety and energy procedures.
• Maintain grooming and hygiene standards among staff.
• Monitor profitability of functions to minimize waste.
• Assist in maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment.
• Guide and motivate banquet staff and set performance standards.
