Job summary

Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis, MS, is seeking friendly banquet staff to help set up events, greet guests, and coordinate with teams to ensure top service. This role requires 18+ and a valid driver’s license, plus basic food and beverage knowledge.

You’ll review event details, oversee dining room service, and complete banquet checks with accuracy. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with training or experience in hospitality a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the set-up of banquet functions as required.
  • Conduct roll call meetings before events to relay pertinent information about service, hotel activities and performance for excellence standards.
  • Greet host and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Review function with all other necessary departments, insuring all requirements are met.
  • Oversees all dining room service.
  • Complete all banquet checks in a correct and timely manner.
  • Assists in cleaning and reset set-up of banquet room(s).
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow cast members.
  • Any and all duties as assigned by your Manager or a member of management.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or cast members of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must successfully complete C.A.R.E. training certification course.
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills. Must have excellent ability to supervise and motivate cast members. Must be able to transport up to 150 lbs. on a cart or carry 50 lbs. on a tray through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the cast member is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The cast member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The cast member is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The cast member must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and be able to transport up to 150 lbs. on a cart. Must be able to stand for a full shift.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to weather during outside catering.
