Job summary

PENN Entertainment's Hollywood Casino Columbus is seeking a banquet server to assist with table setup, service, and guest experience during banquet events. You will help prepare table settings, serve meals and beverages, and ensure a smooth, welcoming environment for guests in a high-energy event setting.

Position requires professional appearance and the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Assist with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. for full service of banquet events.
• Prepare items on tables when guests arrive (salt/pepper, sugar bowls, rolls, butter, dressings).
• Provide excellent food and beverage service for banquet events, including serving meals and refills.

WE LOVE OUR WORK.

• Assist with set‑up of tables, linens, chairs, etc , for full service of banquet events. Examples: laying table linens, setting china and silverware, filling water pitchers and brewing coffee.


• Responsible for preparing any items that will be present on the tables when guest enter, including salt and pepper, sugar bowls, rolls and butter and salad dressings. Setting decorations centerpieces, lighting candles and overall setup of the table.


• Provide excellent food and beverage service for banquet events, responsible for serving the meal, refilling water glasses and other beverages, bartending – based on appropriate certification , tending to any other miscellaneous needs that guest in that area may have.


• Maintaining a buffet and all items necessary for guest to serve themselves.


• Responsible for clearing dishes and preparing them for the dishwashers .


• At close of event, the banquet server is responsible for clearing any remaining items from table and bringing them back to their respective storage places.


• Knowledgeable about food served, taking time before meal to review the menu and be able to answer guest questions .


• Complete all other assigned duties when necessary .

• Maintain a professional appearance and mannerism .


• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures .


• Maintain sense of urgency when on the service floor, be attentive to guest without being intrusive to the guest, able to make the guest feel at ease and create a comfortable environment .


• Maintain back of house , front of the house and side work duties for the overall productivity of banquet events, outstanding organizational and time management skills , ability to work independently .


• Maintain positive and professional attitude, while being a team player .Seek council from management when needed .


• Being able to follow directions efficiently and meeting the physical demands of the job .


• Maintain clear and open communication between all staff members for overall event success .


• Focus on job responsibilities while being on feet and moving around freely, examples : bending, climbing stairs and carrying items weighing 25-50 pounds .


• Follow Health and Safety practices at all times .


• Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
