Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Banquet Captain in Savannah, GA, at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. The role leads on-floor service, directs banquet staff, and ensures events run per BEOs, timelines, and standards.

The position includes opportunities for training and advancement within a supportive team. You will collaborate with the culinary team and supervisors, uphold food safety policies, and help train staff while maintaining guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience.
• Prior lead or captain experience in a banquet or event environment preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations.
• Must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements.
• A food handler certification may also be required based on state or local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-floor leadership during banquet and catered events by coordinating service execution and directing Banquet Servers and Banquet Porters.
• Serve as the primary service lead for assigned events and ensure service is delivered per BEOs and timelines.
• Participate in event setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining guest satisfaction and attention to detail.
