Job summary

Doubletree by Hilton Davenport is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead banquet events and coordinate between kitchen and service staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will supervise banquet functions, ensure timely setup and breakdown, and uphold hygiene and service standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff during events, managing room diagrams, training, and maintaining quality and guest satisfaction goals in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong administrative skills, including business writing and mathematics for basic accounting.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work calmly under stressful situations.
• Maintain high level of guest satisfaction as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food service between kitchen and banquet staff and guests.
• Review and implement table and seating diagrams.
• Operate as banquet server during functions including setup, greeting and serving; assist staff with breakdown.
• Assist with bar back duties and stock transfers.
• Set example and adhere to hygiene and grooming standards.
• Maintain standards for product quality, service speed, cleanliness and sanitation.
• Manage opening/closing side work, inspections, and captain's report.
• Ensure training on quality and service standards and provide tools/equipment for job functions.
• Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals.
• Assist in pre-service and periodic training and complete accurate bills per BEO with guest signature.
• Support Banquet Manager in staff training when needed.

The Banquet Captain will work closely with the Hotel's Food and Beverage Department, both front-of-house and back-of-house. This position leads & services banquet functions for the hotel. Responsible for leading the banquet team during banquet functions to ensure positive customer experience.

• Ensure proper training on quality and service standards and have the tools & equipment to effectively carry out their job functions
• Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals
• Assist in pre-service and periodic training
• Complete accurate bill according to BEO and obtain signature from guest
• Assist Banquet Manager in training of staff when needed
