Job summary

Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is seeking a dependable Banquet Bartender to set up, mix, and break down the bar for banquet events. You will greet guests, craft beverages, and ensure responsible service in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires at least 1 year of banquet or event bartending experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year bartending experience in banquet/event settings.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of state and local alcohol laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down the bar area per banquet event orders (BEOs).
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and beverage offerings, including specialty cocktails.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and comply with legal and company guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the event.
• Restock supplies and assist in inventory control.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with banquet servers, kitchen staff, and event coordinators.
• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience.
