Job summary

Direct Counsel seeks a Mid-Level Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its nationally recognized practice. The role is based in Atlanta, New York, or Wilmington, with a strong preference for the New York office.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience, excellent writing and analytical skills, and JD from an accredited law school. Active bar admission is required to practice in the chosen jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience at a law firm or similar environment.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice.
• Strong writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
• Handle Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, distressed M&A transactions, and creditor negotiations.
• Advise clients on distressed investing, private credit, and capital solutions.
• Participate in distressed asset sales and acquisitions.

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Mid-Level Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its nationally recognized practice in Atlanta, New York, or Wilmington, with a strong preference for the New York office.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience who is looking to work on sophisticated, high-profile matters alongside a collaborative national team.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $250,000–$390,000, depending on experience.
