Job summary

The Bankruptcy Litigation & Restructuring Associate at a respected national law firm in New York seeks a 3rd–7th year attorney to join its practice in New York. You will handle sophisticated Chapter 11 proceedings, restructuring matters and high-stakes bankruptcy litigation with a collaborative platform.

You will represent creditors’ committees, trustees, debtors and creditors, draft pleadings, motions and filings, participate in court proceedings, and collaborate across offices.

Qualifications

• 3rd–7th year associate with bankruptcy or restructuring experience in a law firm.
• Experience with Chapter 11 proceedings and creditor-side representation preferred.
• Excellent drafting, research and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court workouts.
• Represent creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, landlords and creditors.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and bankruptcy filings.
• Participate in court proceedings and contested litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and case analysis.
• Collaborate across offices and practice groups on sophisticated restructuring matters.

Bankruptcy Litigation & Restructuring Associate
Location: New York, NY
A respected national law firm is seeking a 3rd–7th year Associate to join its Bankruptcy Litigation & Restructuring practice in New York. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated Chapter 11 proceedings, restructuring matters and high-stakes bankruptcy litigation within a collaborative and growing platform.
The role offers exposure to complex national bankruptcy matters representing a broad range of stakeholders, including creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors and secured and unsecured creditors.
Key Responsibilities

• Support complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court workouts
• Represent creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, landlords and creditors
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive bankruptcy filings
• Participate in court proceedings and contested litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and case analysis
• Collaborate across offices and practice groups on sophisticated restructuring matters
  

Who You Are

• 3rd–7th year associate
• Experience in bankruptcy or restructuring matters within a law firm environment
• Background in Chapter 11 proceedings and creditor-side representation preferred
• Litigation experience, including depositions and courtroom advocacy
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in industry developments
• Strong academic credentials
• Active New York Bar admission required
  

Compensation
Salary Range: $250,000 – $360,000 (DOE)
