Job summary

Wintrust Mortgage is seeking a Default Loan Servicing Specialist in Rosemont, IL to manage the bankruptcy and foreclosure portfolio from referrals through discharge or sale, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and investor guidelines.

The role includes supervising a 3rd party subservicer, monitoring timelines, and producing monthly/quarterly reports for senior management. A Bachelor’s degree and extensive bankruptcy law experience are required.

Qualifications

• 7 plus years of extensive knowledge of residential bankruptcy law, all chapters and the foreclosure process are required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytic and customer service skills.
• Prior work experience in collections, loss mitigation, workout group or law firm preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office family of products, with advanced knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage bankruptcy and foreclosure portfolio from referrals through dismal/discharge or sale, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and investor guidelines.
• Oversee third-party subservicer to maintain compliance within bankruptcy and foreclosure guidelines.
• Monitor timelines and regulatory changes, prepare financial figures for counsel, and generate management reports.
• Conduct oversight reviews for subserviced loans from the third-party vendor and coordinate responses.
• Discuss account status with borrowers and assess restructuring options for past due loans.
• Coordinate with loss mitigation and collection teams to support recovery efforts.
