Wintrust Financial Corporation is seeking a Default Loan Servicing Specialist in Illinois to manage delinquent residential loans through foreclosure and bankruptcy with strict adherence to state and federal laws. You will supervise a subservicer and coordinate with counsel on complex matters.

The role requires extensive knowledge of bankruptcy law and foreclosure processes, plus strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of extensive knowledge of residential bankruptcy law, all chapters and the foreclosure process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytic and customer service skills.
• Prior work experience in collections, loss mitigation, workout group or law firm preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bankruptcy & foreclosure portfolio from referrals through dismal/discharge or sale, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and investor guidelines.
• Oversee third-party subservicer to ensure bankruptcy/foreclosure compliance.
• Monitor timelines per state and investor guidelines; update on new regulations.
• Prepare financial figures as needed by counsel; follow department checklists through foreclosure & bankruptcy processes.
• Deliver monthly & quarterly problem loan reports for senior management; review audits and remediation plans.
