Job summary

Newrez seeks a Bankruptcy Case Manager I to organize and monitor bankruptcy accounts, performing research with PACER and internal systems. You will file claims, track post-petition payments, and coordinate with legal teams to manage obligations and recovery within bankruptcy plans.

The role requires attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Background in bankruptcy preferred but not required.
• Any legal background would be beneficial.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in changing priorities.
• Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
• Good computer and internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, update and review bankruptcy information daily.
• Research accounts using PACER AIS and trustee sites.
• Prepare and file Proofs of Claim and Transfers of Claim with bankruptcy courts.
• Ensure pre- and post-petition payment tracking in the ILS system.
• Document bankruptcy correspondence pertaining to collateral.
• Monitor payments per bankruptcy plan (trustee/post-petition).
• Contact trustee or debtor's attorney to facilitate payments.
• Identify issues qualifying for legal action (plan/claim objections).
• Collaborate with Litigation, Foreclosure, and Loss Mitigation teams.
• Perform discharge reviews for lien release and adjustments.
• Assist on special projects and other duties as assigned.
