Job summary

CLA is seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director in Madison, WI to join and eventually lead the Financial Services Tax practice. You will guide long-term strategy, talent development, and client strategy for the group, with a focus on complex tax engagements in financial services.

Applicants should have 6+ years of public accounting tax experience, a CPA, and a strong understanding of ASC 740, REITs, and financial instruments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
• CPA certification required; JD/EA may be accepted in place of CPA.
• Experience advising banks, insurers, funds or specialty finance entities.
• Strong understanding of ASC 740 and related tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on tax planning and business processes for banks and specialty finance.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop talent and guide client strategy within Financial Services Tax.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy.
