Job summary

CLA is seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director to join and ultimately help lead our Financial Services Tax practice. This role guides the long-term direction, talent development, and client strategy of the group.

You will consult with clients on tax planning, lead engagements, develop staff, and represent CLA at industry events, focusing on complex banking and finance tax issues such as ASC 740, REITs, and partnership taxation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with a public accounting firm.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA is required. JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA certification.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
• Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.

• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.

• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
