Job summary

CLA is seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director to join and lead our Financial Services Tax practice. This role targets a strategic, growth-minded professional who will guide long-term direction, talent development, and client strategy for the group.

You will consult on tax planning for banks and investment funds, supervise engagements, and help develop the team within CLA. CPA is required; JD/EA may substitute in some cases, and a strong ASC 740 knowledge base is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA certification required; JD/EA may be accepted in place of CPA.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on tax planning and business processes for banking and specialty finance.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Train and develop team members to build their careers.
• Foster opportunities for clients and communities.
• Attend industry events and trainings to stay industry-focused.
