Job summary

FirstBank PR is seeking a Business Relationship Officer I to drive new client acquisition and deepen existing relationships within the Puerto Rico market. The role requires proactive outreach, proposal development, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored banking solutions.

The candidate should have a business background, strong communication, and the ability to manage a diverse client portfolio, with readiness to work on-site and travel between branches as needed.

Qualifications

• Computer literate in MS Office.
• Leadership, administrative, sales and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of banking regulations (KYC, BSA, OFAC) preferred.
• Knowledge in banking laws and regulations; banking products and services; Credit policy.
• Strong analytical, multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
• Bilingual, preferable.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business materials and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively to groups of managers, clients, and the public.
• Driver’s license and car in good condition.
• Available to work holidays, weekends, and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for potential new clients and convert to increased business.
• Cold call within market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Identify potential clients and decision makers within organizations.
• Research and build relationships with new clients.
• Develop proposals that address client needs and objectives.
• Assist in pricing solutions and services.
• Close new business by coordinating requirements and negotiating contracts.
