Job summary

Western Alliance Bank, a subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation, seeks a Banking Operations Business Analyst for FX Ops to support enterprise initiatives and testing of new FX products. You will act as a SME for back-office processes, document requirements, and drive testing with QA and cross-functional teams in a Columbus, OH setting.

The role emphasizes configuring ION Spectrum queues, leading smaller business-unit efforts, and advancing process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations and treasury management.
• Experience documenting workflows, processes and functional designs; strong testing/implementation background.
• Experience with FX payments, SWIFT, RTP, digital assets, FTP/SFTP and API banking.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Title: Banking Operations Business Analyst - FX Ops

Location: OH - Columbus

What you'll do: As a Banking Operations Business Analyst you'll support Enterprise initiatives with the implementation of new products and enhancements to existing products and processes within the Foreign Exchange Operations space and act as a Foreign Exchange back office SME, having a clear understanding of the business needs, processes, change impact, and end user experience. You'll be heavily involved in the testing of new products, enhancements, and changes, engaging with Quality Assurance and subject matter expert teams, helping to drive the conversations and observations on the quality of work and the overall success of our testing. You'll partner closely with a cross organizational team to include the operations and product subject matter experts, business leadership, project management, IT partners and vendor partners.

• Act as the subject matter expert responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing ION Spectrum queues and workflows, executing and documenting testing in a dedicated test environment, and developing and maintaining supporting processes and procedures aligned with operational controls and business requirements.
• Identify, develop, and write business unit requirements to support the business unit's project and define system and functional requirements.
• Facilitate meetings designed to produce the results needed; work closely with team members and independently to meet our plan.
• Support the project throughout the development and testing efforts and directly support and lead testing, joining the SME business experts and project team.
• Lead smaller scale business unit efforts (outside of EPMO ran projects) as the functional project lead and prepare summary communications at regular intervals on the project's status. Participate in process improvement initiatives and help drive automation projects which are typically smaller in scale with an IT lead.
• Ensure that the teams understand the objectives and that the testing results are either in line with expectations and when they are not; help drive the conversation of what changes are needed and the priority of those changes.

What you'll need:

• 3+ years of related experience in Treasury Management Service or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required;
• Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate knowledge in banking or financial services operations domain, experience writing business requirements working with subject matter expertise.
• Intermediate Experience in documenting workflows, processes, functional designs, and managing a timeline/project task list and testing/implementation effort.
• Intermediate Experience Payments knowledge to include payment types ( FX Payments, SWIFT, RTP, Digital Assets) and file transfer protocol (FTP/SFTP) and API banking (helpful).
• Intermediate Experience in FX Operations and experience with the IONSpectrum platform is preferred.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $80,390.00 - $99,000.00 for Las Vegas, NV. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
