Nuffield Health is seeking a Porter at Cheltenham Hospital to support daily hospital operations and create a safe, pleasant environment for patients and staff.

The role involves handling medical gas cylinders, distribution of equipment, and assisting with transport and duties across wards. It suits those with prior porter-like experience and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Receipt, handling, storage and renewal of medical gas cylinders according to safety guidelines.
• Check gas store levels and alarms; advise Pharmacy on re-ordering.
• Dispenser Liquid Nitrogen up to three times a week for Outpatient Clinics.
• Provide courier service for pathology samples and collections.
• Transport equipment between areas and to other local hospitals as needed.
• Maintain tidy storage areas and assist with building fabric repairs.
• Support clinical staff and maintain Health and Safety of ward rooms.

You will play a key part in keeping our hospital operational activities moving smoothly (which is a priority for us). Once trained and competent as our Porter, you will help us to create a safe and pleasant environment for customers and your peers.

The Role:

• When necessary, to receipt the delivery of, handling, storage and renewal of medical gas cylinders in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Check medical gas store levels, alarms and advise Pharmacy on re- ordering.
• Dispense Liquid Nitrogen up to three times a week to various Outpatient Clinics
• Provide a courier service for pathology samples and similar collections.
• Collect and deliver equipment to other local hospitals when required.
• Ensuring storage areas are maintained, cleaned and tidy.
• Helping to mitigate risk and sustain a good quality of décor by identifying building fabric areas in need of repair.
• Transporting of equipment from one area to another.
• Occasional use of simple tools and equipment.
• Helping with deliveries & their drivers.
• Supporting clinical staff as required.
• Maintaining Health and Safety requirements for the Ward Rooms.
• Following our Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring that the location is tidy, pleasant, and safe for patients.
• Collecting bulk linen to top up the department stock around the hospital.
• Remove all general waste and dirty laundry in accordance with policies and procedures
• Collect and dispose of clinical waste in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Set up conference rooms and assist in office moves, as requested.
• Clean and prepare areas as directed and following the required policies and procedures.
• When fire alarms are activated, to support the early recognition of activation area and support the evacuation.
• Manage and maintain the Hospital Car.
