Commerce Bank is seeking a Payment Specialist in Kansas City, MO to process and manage payment transactions with accuracy and timeliness. The role supports daily operations, resolves payment issues, and maintains complete audit trails while delivering exceptional customer service.

The position requires one year of banking operations experience and a solid understanding of ACH, wires, and other payment types. Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM in-office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year banking operations experience required.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Process department files prepared for payment processing.
• Receive, organize, and process customer and interbank payments, including ACH, wire transfers, instant payments, electronic funds.
• Post payment transactions in banking systems and verify proper allocation of funds to ensure timely and compliant processing.
• Execute daily processing procedures, including balancing, reconciling, and posting transactions.
• Monitor payment queues and escalation exceptions or errors for timely resolution.
• Maintain compliance with bank policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
