Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a 1st shift employee to tend baling machinery, weigh and record bale weights, and perform routine maintenance on baling systems. You will handle bale transport, operate forklift equipment, and ensure accurate shipping manifests while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications include at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting and the ability to adjust and set up equipment as required, plus experience mentoring teammates to improve performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of standard setups, adjustments and operating characteristics of equipment.
• Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to equipment according to job requirements.
• Training and mentoring new and existing employees to improve team performance and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Tend machines that shred and/or compress and bind paper by-products generated from the print manufacturing process to facilitate disposition of waste materials.
• Thread tie bands around bale and twists or clamps ends of bands to tighten bands.
• Opens compression chamber doors and removes bale from machine.
• Truck bales to storage location using air lifts, pallet jacks or hoist trucks.
• Complete daily forklift condition report.
• Weight the bales and keep records of the gross weight, materials grade of the bales.
• Perform routine maintenance on the baling machinery and remove obstructions in the cyclone as needed.
• May load bales on trucks, rail cars for disposal and complete shipping manifest.
• May photograph container and seal for verification purposes.
