Job summary

The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY, is seeking a Baking and Pastry Faculty member to teach in their courses, prepare lesson plans, and advise students pursuing culinary careers. You will maintain course materials, uphold CIA policies, and contribute to overall college operations.

Required are 8+ years in Food Service/Hospitality with a focus on Baking and Pastry, plus an Associate’s Degree in Baking and Pastry or related field; a Bachelor’s degree and advanced certifications are

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent required in Baking and Pastry or Culinary Arts.
• Minimum eight years’ experience with managerial duties in Food Service/Hospitality, with focus on Baking and Pastry.
• Fine dining, Baking/Pastry production and prior training experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute daily lesson plans for classes and teach classes per CIA policies.
• Assess student development and guide career paths in Baking and Pastry.
• Provide feedback and evaluate student performance; file grades promptly.
• Develop and revise course guides, syllabi, and curricula for courses.
• Maintain kitchen safety, sanitation and equipment across facilities.
