The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) seeks a Chef Instructor to teach students in classroom and kitchen lab settings, develop curriculum, conduct research, and contribute to the college’s intellectual property. The role requires preparing lesson plans, teaching, evaluating students, and revising course materials while advising students and upholding college policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent required in Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years industry post-graduate recent experience.
• At least three (3) years of supervisory experience with both management and line level employees.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the field of Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, Hospitality, Education, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily instructional lesson plans based on approved curriculum and teach to college policies.
• Assess learning outcomes listed in the course guide or syllabus.
• Instruct lectures and hands-on classes on-campus, off-campus, or remotely to professional standards.
