Job summary

Whole Foods Market Berkeley seeks a friendly Bakery Team Member to assist with receiving and preparing products, maintain displays, and provide courteous service to customers. You will stock shelves, monitor quality, and support inventory and sample programs in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reliability, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety standards while delivering the store's high standards and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
• Stocks and cleans shelves, bins, and display areas.
• Monitors and prevents spoilage and communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows and complies with health, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working/shopping environment; maintains equipment per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
