Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Baker to prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts from established recipes. You will measure, mix, shape, and bake items, decorate cakes, and ensure consistent quality. The role includes keeping a clean work area and supporting daily bakery production to meet customer demand.

You will interact with customers, answer questions, and take special orders while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior baking or food production experience preferred.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts following established recipes.
• Measure, mix, shape, and bake products ensuring quality and consistency.
• Decorate items such as cakes and specialty desserts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and rotate/label ingredients.
• Assist customers with product questions and take special orders.
