Job summary

Bread Ahead in New York seeks a Bakery School Assistant to help run bakery workshops and daily school operations. You will assist the Bakery School Teacher, prepare classes, organise ingredients and equipment, and maintain a clean, safe working environment to deliver an excellent guest experience.

This is a full-time, hourly-paid position (40 hours per week) with flexibility for evenings and weekends. Pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with healthcare and other benefits available after

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery, kitchen, culinary school or similar food environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions and food-safety procedures accurately.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy environment.
• Reliable, proactive and customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience with doughs, breads or baking techniques is desirable.
• Customer-facing experience is desirable.
• NYC Food Protection Certification is desirable, or willingness to obtain.
