Job summary

Posh Pop Bakeshop in New York, NY is seeking a Bakery Helper to join our kitchen team. You will assist bakers, prep batters and icings, and help maintain a clean, efficient workstation.

This full-time on-site role requires reliable transportation and the ability to follow directions from management. Spanish speaking is okay.

Location at 192 Bleecker Street and 315 West 39th Street, with opportunities to learn and grow in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a kitchen or baking environment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and follow written and verbal instructions from management.
• Spanish speaking OK.
• Must have own transportation (vehicle). There is no public transport available.
• Maintain a steady pace throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Act as an advocate for the POSH POP culture.
• Retain and demonstrate proper procedures delivered by enthusiastic managers.
• Use proper techniques for mixing, pouring, and storing batters and icings.
• Help wash dishes, bake and cool as needed.
• Prepare batters and icings to send to other bakeries when appropriate.
• Maintain a steady pace throughout your shift to ensure completion of tasks on time.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with all housekeeping tasks as outlined in opening, closing, daily and/or weekly checklists.
• Accept shipments and packages.
• Report to work as scheduled and meet the requirements for the length of the shift.
