Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician for a growing bakery operation in Frankfort, IL. You will perform routine QC checks, including sensory evaluations and physical testing, to ensure raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet safety and quality standards.

Work includes monitoring CCPs, documenting results, and supporting audits and investigations. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1+ year of QC/QA experience in food manufacturing; bakery

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Food Science or related field a plus.
• 1+ years QC/QA experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred (bakery experience a plus, not required)
• Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, temperature-varied production environment
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Basic math and computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets)
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for full shift duration
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to work one weekend day per week

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods
• Conduct sensory evaluations (taste, texture, appearance) and physical testing (weight, temperature, pH, moisture)
• Monitor and document CCPs (Critical Control Points) per HACCP plan
• Verify GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation compliance on the production floor
• Complete and maintain accurate QC records, batch logs, and traceability documentation
• Flag and elevate non-conforming product; support root cause investigations
• Calibrate and maintain QC testing equipment
• Support internal and third-party audits (SQF, BRC, or similar)
• Communicate quality issues clearly to production supervisors and management
