Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Bakery Associate to work in our bakery department at the Niles, Michigan location. You will bake, fry, decorate and stock products, while ensuring the department remains clean, organized and well merchandised.

The role emphasizes following PPE and safety guidelines, accurate pricing, and shelf maintenance. Prior retail experience and attention to detail are valued; physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Bake and fry duties according to production schedule (80% of time).
• Price, date, wrap and bag bakery products.
• Merchandise bakery shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify Bakery Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking merchandise.
• Be familiar with products, prices, tastes, and uses.
