Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Bakery Associate at our Fenton, MI location to prepare and package bakery items, maintain stock, and support guest experience. You will follow safety, food safety, and PPE guidelines while collaborating with other departments to help drive store growth.

The role requires a High School Diploma (GED) preferred and about one year of retail or related experience. Lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery products per production planner.
• Package and label bakery products per program plan.
• Merchandise bakery products per flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with bakery products, rotating and dating cases/buckets.
• Notify the Bakery Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Collaborate with other departments and stores to grow SpartanNash Retail sales.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety and guest experience guidelines.
• Communicate recipes, weights, and cleaning steps to coworkers.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on need.
