Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is seeking a Production Supervisor to join the plant leadership team. You will supervise production associates and partner with maintenance, sanitation, and shipping to drive safety, quality and continuous improvement while meeting daily targets and budgets.

In this role you will build a high-performing shift team, manage training, and implement policies to ensure reliable line operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; not required.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in production, preferably in food processing or fast-paced consumer products manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and EPA is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Kronos knowledge is a plus.
• Must be willing to become proficient in NetSuite ERP.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams of hourly associates.
• Ability to succeed in an ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational targets and lead teams.
• Drive safety, quality, continuous improvement, performance management, associate development, team engagement and operating results for their assigned area.
• Build an effective team on his/her shift and manage the training strategy for associates and the team.
• Coordinate materials, staffing and resources to support line operation and changeovers.
• Collaborate with Area Leadership to create and execute the reliability strategy for the area of responsibility.
• Coach operators to build their functional and leadership capabilities and to drive accountability in people safety, quality and food safety, autonomous maintenance, and team engagement.
• Develop, implement and promote safety programs and safe work practices through plant safety teams, programs and initiatives.
• Ensure the ongoing production of safe and defect-free products consistent with Sara Lee Frozen Bakery principles.
• Manage associate relations issues and guide hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Operations associates.
• Utilize resources on shift for preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment to meet performance levels.
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities and lead on-shift incident resolution when needed.
• Participate in improvement strategies to help the line/area perform more effectively.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit and onboard associates for operations roles.
