Job summary

Klosterman Baking Company in Kentucky is seeking Production Associates to operate all equipment and produce finished products while complying with food safety and quality standards. You will work in a team environment, inspect product for uniformity, and help with tray handling, packaging prep, and changeovers.

Duties include maintaining a clean, sanitary area, reporting quality issues, supporting tray washers and wrappers, and complying with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Inspection of product for uniformity and quality prior to packaging
• Sorting Trays – by color, other suppliers, broken
• Feeding trays to tray washer
• Operating Pan Stacker/Un-stacker as needed
• Aiding in product changeovers
• Discarding scrap / waste disposal / mopping excess water
• Must maintain an organized, clean and sanitary working area
• Communicating with others (operators, utility personnel, supervisors)
• Pre-Wrap Product Inspection: bending, lifting and stretching over 4’ conveyor
• Wrapping machine inspection for quality and seals
• Place inferior product into waste containers for cripple/damaged count
• Report quality issues and machine problems immediately
• Safe operation of tray washer and pan line including jams and safety devices
• Keep area clean and orderly and know where cleaning supplies are kept
• Wrapped Product Inspection: visually inspect full trays for quality and legible codes
• Pan Pulling and Setting: lifting and positioning pans safely
• Pan Stacker/Unstacker: read and operate control panels, clear jams
• Area must be clean and organized
• Disposal of scrap buns/dough in compactors and safe operation
• Mopping of bakery floor and equipment cleaning
• Follow all GMPs and safety procedures in food manufacturing
