Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Bakery Team Member to help prepare, bake, decorate breads and pastries, stock fresh products, and provide courteous service to customers and team members.

You will work on the floor performing opening, mid, and closing duties, maintain cleanliness, follow health and safety standards, and support production planning for events while contributing to store initiatives and a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of artisan breads and pastries, including cake decorating.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, energy and passion for baking.
• Basic computer skills for order processing and inventory.
• Strong communication and teamwork to support store operations.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Produces quality breads and pastries.
• Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars.
• Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products.
• Stocks dry products.
• Develops new recipes and production techniques for seasonal variance and productivity.
• Trains production personnel to high standards.
• Performs production planning and forecasting for events and holidays.
• Maintains production modules in the Datapax system.
• Provides excellent customer service and supports suggestive selling.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment; maintains equipment per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and incidents promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
