Job summary

Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Fairfax, VA is seeking prep cooks to join our back-of-house team. Prepare dishes from scratch, follow standardized recipes, and uphold food safety standards while delivering warm hospitality.

Desire to work in a fast-paced kitchen, with a passion for freshness and cleanliness. Flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, are available.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking with a keen eye for freshness, quality, and cleanliness.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily prep lists created by the Chef or kitchen leadership.
• Label, organize, and stock all cooking ingredients.
• Complete assigned prep tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Wash, chop, sort, and prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Measure ingredients according to standardized recipes.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate replenishment needs.
• Learn and apply Tatte's cooking methods and techniques.
• Properly store food items and maintain organized storage areas.
• Monitor food and cooling room temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Assist chefs with food preparation and other kitchen tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
