Job summary

Magnolia Bakery is seeking a Prep Cook with flexible availability at Bloomingdales in New York, NY. You will prepare and bake desserts and prepped items, adhering to recipes, brand standards and a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include following production requirements, labeling and dating foods, stocking the prep area, and assisting back-of-house staff as needed. Shift variety may include days, weekends and overnights to support busy bakery operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dessert items in accordance with production requirements and Magnolia quality standards, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
• Start items prepared ahead of time; date all food containers; note shortages to the Kitchen Manager.
• Demonstrate safe food handling and follow safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Operate and monitor equipment (mixers, choppers, meat slicers); sanitize work area during and after use.
• Complete prep cook list as directed by Production Manager/Supervisor; assemble ingredients per recipes and label accordingly.
