Maman in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Porter to keep the kitchen, service, and storage areas clean and organized in a fast-paced bakery café. You will support the BOH team, assist with basic prep, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or bakery preferred but not required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishpit, café, restroom, and service areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware; replenish stock.
• Assist with trash and recycling according to health standards.
• Support Kitchen Leader and BOH with basic prep tasks.
• Receive and store deliveries properly.
• Ensure storage areas are clean and compliant with food safety.
• Restock supplies such as paper goods and cleaning items.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and safety guidelines.
• Perform ad hoc tasks to support daily operations.
