Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Manager in California to oversee bakery operations, production, display, and staff. You will ensure quality, safety, and sanitation while managing inventory and budgeting for the department.

The role involves coaching team members, planning schedules, and collaborating with the Store Manager on hiring and promotions. A strong customer-service focus and prior grocery experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Have and show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Have good communication skills; and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
• Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and work shifts up to 8 hours; manage safety and cleanliness.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products.
• Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget.
• Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement; develop improved practices and procedures.
• Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained.
• Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
• Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product and service; act as MOD when needed.
