Job summary

Hannaford is seeking a Bakery Lead to oversee the Bakery Department and support the Assistant Store Manager-Fresh in achieving financial and sales goals. You’ll build strong associate and customer relationships and foster a positive culture aligned with Hannaford strategy.

You will lead operations, uphold food safety, drive sales through merchandising, and coach associates to meet department needs while coordinating with store management. This is a hands-on leadership role in Voorheesville, NY.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bakery retail experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bakery Department operations in the absence of the ASM-Fresh.
• Lead excellent customer service and goodwill by role modeling high standards.
• Aid in growing sales through effective merchandising strategies.
• Maintain appearance, quality, variety, safety, and food safety at high level.
• Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
• Utilize company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, and systems.
• Assist in creating and maintaining effective work schedules.
• Provide real time coaching and support performance management.
• Assist in training and developing associates for department needs.
• Maintain solid communication with department and store management.
• Observe and follow all company policies and standard practices.
• Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
