Job summary

Merenda Box is seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our shop, overseeing product quality, customer service, team performance, inventory, and daily systems. You will drive improvements in the guest experience and growth of the business, while setting high standards for the team.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing scheduling, ensuring accurate cash handling, and maintaining shop cleanliness and presentation. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery/food-service management.
• Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
• Experience training staff and coaching employees.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• High attention to product quality, cleanliness, presentation and detail.
• Experience managing inventory, ordering, and POS systems.
• Comfort with spreadsheets and basic business reporting.
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; reliable and independent.
• Open availability, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the bakery.
• Lead, supervise, and support the store team.
• Train and coach employees on service, drinks, food handling, store procedures, and standards.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance and task completion.
• Help manage scheduling and daily staffing needs.
• Open and close the store and ensure procedures are followed.
• Maintain high standards for quality, freshness, presentation and consistency.
• Ensure drinks are prepared to standard and service remains friendly and efficient.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and maintain store appearance.
• Manage inventory, par levels, and ordering; receive deliveries and rotate stock.
• Oversee Toast menu items, pricing, availability, and updates.
• Monitor waste and product usage; look for growth opportunities and promotions.
